Question
Hey! So here is my story; last night I noticed that my gold lyre tail molly had given birth, didn't even know she was pregnant. Anyway, I was just wondering for some pointers on keeping them alive. I have removed the babies from the original tank and put them in a separate tank with an air rock and no gravel. I feed them finely crushed flake food. Anything else?

Answer
Hi,
You have done well by putting them in a separate tank as their parents would eat them.
Give them gravel, so they can burrow and generally display their natural behaviour. Also put some plants/ornaments in the tank to give them some hiding places. They should ideally have a filter, but as they are already in there, you probably won't be able to get a filter for it.
Feed them baby brine shrimp, liquifry, and crushed flake food. Keep the temperature between 78 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit.

Good luck,
Kathryn
