Mollies & Platys

Question
While I do know the mollie's can breed with another species of mollies (I.E. Black mollies and Goldust) but can my black mollies breed with my red wag platty's?

Hi Dj,

Mollies cannot breed with Platy fish, because their genetic code is not similar. However, Swordtails can breed with Platies, since Swordtails are basically Platies with a pointy tail. If your Mollies DO manage to breed with your Platies, for some strange reason, the fry will probably be sick and die, due to genetic problems.
