Betta overly excited & hungry when feeding?

Question
Hi, I bought my Betta fish Paul a few months ago and have been feeding him Topfin Betta bits 2x day 4 pellets). I think I overfed him initially (almost 2x as much) based on what I had been told in the store, but then lately considered the instructions on the bottle. Paul lives in a (I think) 1 gallon tank with about 2/3 gallon of water (no filter system, clean it regularly, use drinking water and add about 1 cups of his old water). I've noticed that Paul is very excited when I feed him and eats the pellets within a few seconds. Is this normal? Am I doing anything wrong - he seems so hungry - could it be because of the overfeeding? He ate all of his food before and doesn't look bloated or unhealthy. Please help. Thank you

Answer
Hi Isabel;

Sounds normal to me! The usual question I get is "my betta won't eat". Just don't feed him any more than you do now. He might get fat or bloated because he thinks he needs more.
