Question
AnswerHi Gary,
In short, mostly. All African cichlids will be aggressive and territorial, but when kept with other african cichlids in a big enough tank they'll all live peacefully together. South American cichlids, on the other hand, are not all bad. Angelfish are actually South American cichlids and aren't usually aggressive in a community tank. But other South Americans like Oscars and Jack Dempseys and Jewels and Convicts will be aggressive toward other fish. It's just their nature.
