sick Beta fish We have a Beta fish. I've noticed that this fish "LOOKS" like it's going to give birth any minute, which is STRANGE for a MALE fish and the only one in the tank. It has what looks like a Swollen bully just around his gills. Can you tell me what is going on with this fish?

Its not pregnant, what is happening is that your Betta has an internal organ infection creating gases which build up and thus creating this bloating effect. You can try healing with melafix however this is a far in advance infection and very little can be done, I'm sorry I'm of not much help but this is a far gone problem, you may also however should try some aquarium salt that may reduce the swelling and give your Betta a fighting chance.
