black fin shark

Question
We have 2 black fin sharks, about 2 inches long each.  They do not go to the bottom, but stay at the top.  They are not eating right now.  We are feeding them flakes.  They are in a small tank, but we are moving them to a 5.5 gal tank.  So my questions are: is their top swimming behavior unusual, and am I feeding them correctly?

Answer
Hi Linda,
First, keep in mind that even a 5.5 gallon tank is very small for that kind of fish.  You really should look towards a 10 or better yet a 20 gallon tank.

If they are constantly at the top, I wonder if you have enough air in your water?  Do you have an airstone bubbling in the tank?  If not, you should.
