Question
hello, is tobacco smoke and mosquito coil smoke bad for horses? does it create any breathing problems?

Answer
Hi Caine,

Thank you for your question.  Despite the massive structure of the horse's respiratory system...it can be quite sensitive.  Although I have not read any research on the subject, I would strongly suspect that cigarette smoke is not good for horses and can create lasting respiratory distress. Additionally, the risk of fire that comes with smoking or burning a mosquito coil around dry hay, straw, wood shavings, etc is very dangerous...so I would suggest you not make it a common practice.

I hope that helps.

Thanks, Corlena
