training a stallion

I rescued a 6 yr old Quarter horse stallion he was used only for breeding has limited training ( halter lead ) he is a very lovable horse and seeks attention. he can be a little pushy but will stop when corrected i am looking forward to saddle breaking any advice would help thank you

Hi Barbara,
           I would start with ground work. Lots of it. You need to treat him as you would any green horse. If you are not going to use him for breeding then I would also get him gelded right away. You do not say how much experience you have with horses but since he was a breeding stallion, I would have a trainer work with him when you are ready to put him under saddle.
