pregant or not

Question
are there any why a person can tell if the horse is pregnant with out going to the vet.

Answer
Judy -

Other than having the vet check, you have to wait a few months before you start really seeing signs.  Some of the signs you may see are: weight gain (especially in the abdomen), and as she gets closer to delivery, waxing at the udders, possible change in the appearance of her hips, and a relaxing of the tail head.

While it is nice to have a vet check the mare throughout pregnancy, it is not always necessary.  It may be worth it to have the vet come out just to check at least once.
