kicking ponies

Question
We recently got another ponie it is a wonderful 2 year old shetland. She is great doesn't buck etc.  But does want to kick out of the blue. Small kids I worn to steer clear have tried different tactics with no luck so just have to watch that boone is behind her. But we had a very close call with a freinds lil girl the other day and she needs to get the kicking resolved.

Hi Jen,

Sounds to me like she is being your typical shetland pony!  I have known many, many shetlands, and they all, without exception, are kickers!  

All the advice I can give is to steer clear of her back end, put a red ribbon in her tail if you are working her with other ponies, and she will, hopefully, grow out of it!
