Question
I have a 3 yr old mare that I just got about 6 months ago I can put the saddle on her but she absolutly refuses the bit! I have tried multiple different kinds of bits. I tried mollasses on thebit, heating the bit, sugar on the bit and grain....Everything that i have tried has failed
THis horse also likes to run threw fences is there any ways that i can stop that!

suggestions are greatly appreciated

Answer
Hello,
Sounds like your horse doesn't understand how to give to pressure! Is she difficult to bridle? Does she constantly play with the bit? How she feels about the bit has less to do with running through fences than you might think. If she is running through fences it means she is afraid and disconnected from you as her rider. Perhaps you are going to quickly, she may need you to slow down and find where you missed a step in her understanding. How does she bend? How is she with ropes being thrown over her back and legs? How is she with a plastic bag shaking where the rider would be? Can she just walk and be relaxed while the plastic bag wiggles around all over? Work on all these questions with your ground work and when she can do all these things on the ground write me again and we'll work out a recipe to get her comfortable with the bit.
