Question
I have recently bought a 17hh irish sports horse that i am very happy with.  she is doing well but i wanted advice on how often i should have her teeth checked.  she turned 6 in may, doesnt show any problems and is relaxed in her bit / bridle but wondered if i should have her teeth checked by and equine dentist as a matter of corse once a year.

Answer
WE DO THE RACEHORSES EVERY 6 MONTHS AS THEY GET CAPS THAT NEED TO BE REMOVED, AND SHARP EDGES THAT CAN CUT THE MOUTH
AND HAVE TO BE SMOOTHED OUT.

YOU CAN PULL OUT YOUR HORSES TONGUE TO THE SIDE AND SLIP YOUR HAND IN THE MOUTH TO CHECK YOURSELF. IF THE MOLORS FEEL SMOOTH AND NOT SHARP ON THE EDGES, YOU ARE STILL OK
