Stallions

Question
I have a stallion whom I thought to be a gelding, until about an hour ago when i watched what i thought was a gelding cover my mare. I checked him after to make sure I was not missing anything, nope nothing so I am guessing he has a testical that never dropped, I would like to know if this is common, and if i should be expecting a foal next year. Thank you

Dear Brenda,
          Some geldings do act very much like stallions, but he may have a testicle that didn't drop. It is not common but it does happen. Usually a gelding that was clipped later in life will still have stallion like behavior. Just watch him closely and if you can get a vet out to check on him.
