Question
I actually have two questions. 1st-What is the best type (grass hay, alfalfa, oat) of hay to feed to an older horse that is also getting complete feed?  2nd-What can I give my older horse that will help with very arthritic joints?

Answer
hi mandi,
the best hay to feed them would be alfalfa and bremuda grass. do one - two flakes in the forming of alfalfa and one flake at night if the bremuda grass. that way his system doesnt get to much calcium and colic. any joint supplement with msn is good. so just look on the bottle and see how much msn it has. you can also buy pure msn and add it to the feed with any joint supplement.
good luck with your old friend.
