Starting off with Horses

Question
Hello there!
My name is Christian and I'm a youth living here in Maui, Hawai'i. Everyday driving up to school I see horses grazing in fields and riding in trailers and what not. One of my best friends back in the early elementary years had two horses that I would get to ride on occasion. So in essence, being somewhat surrounded by them has sparked my curiosity as what it would be like to raise a horse or two. Could you tell me any criteria such as the general cost, land requirements, and other accommodations perhaps? It would be great to know if ever I was to try and raise a horse. Of course, the more information will benefit greatly as I'd hate to go blind into that endeavor and end up hurting me and the horse.

Thank you for your time!
Christian.

Answer
Christian,
Please do not try to strat a young horse if you have never worked with or ridden horses before. Young horses need handlers who have been working with horses for years.
If you want to get into horses, please strat riding a a local riding stable on school horses,m and then move up to owning a steady knowledgable horse of your own who will take care of you.
