fading black

Question
I have a horse that when I first purchased him last September was pretty much black. now, he is a definite bay.  i cannot tell if it is the change in his diet or if he indeed is bleaching out. (Although during the summer, the horses are turned out 5pm to 9am)  Any way, is there a supplement that you know definitely works to bring back his dark color?  How about shampoos?

Answer
hi john,
i had the same thing with my mare she was black when i got her now shes bay. it quit natural. many horses change colors and fade and darken back up. it comes and goes with the seasons. There are shampoos you can use. Quick Color is a good product to use just make sure its quick black and not for another coat color. lol
Jeffers black coat also works well. both products will give them a healthy coat and make them silky. they have bleaches so it wont fade the color. some more are pearl black and black as knight. i highly recommend black as night. you wont believe the change in coat. to see this product you can go to http://www.chevalinternational.com/

As far as suppliments go you can give your horse rice bran. it will make the coat healthy and thicker.
if you have any other Questions just come and ask.
