How Much is My Horse Worth?

Question

My Horse
Hi there,
I'm just wondering if someone can tell me around what my horse might be worth. I am preparing to do a lease on him and need to estimate his value before it can begin. Here is some info about him:
Breed: Morgan/Standardbred  Height: 14.2
Sex: Gelding                 Age: 3 soon to be 4
He is very broke already, isn't spooky or scared of anything: has had a gun fired off of his back and is used to cars and machinery. Will do, go through or into anything you ask...examples being water, bridges, small trails and buildings. Neck reins, loads, clips, stands, good for farrier. Not sure what his conformation would be scored at. Just had the vet come out and give him a clean bill of health. He is very fast and has been used to work both cattle and horses for fun. Easy to control at any speed under any circumstances. Has never been in any competitions and is not registered. Can't think of anything else that may determine pricing. Hopefully someone can help give me a basic idea! Thank you!

Answer
If he is as perfect as you say he is he is priceless.  No horse at 3 or 4 is has good as you say.  All horses have areas that need work.  Worth is determined by what someone willing to pay for something, so you may think he is work 10,000 but if no one is willing to pay more than 1,000, then he is only worth 1,000.  So this question is what ever someone is willing to pay.  I am always concerned when someone is worried about money rather than the horse.  My horse is more important to me than money, so I don't care what someone is willing to pay, it they are rough and mean to horses, they are getting on my horse.

So I would suggest you worry about who will be leasing your horse and not so much about how much you make at your horse's expense.
