Question
i have recently brought my 5yr old hanoverian mare shes the most sweetest quietest horse I've ever ridden but she has got a bad pigeon toe i was just wondering if there is any thing i should stay clear of so she doesn't go lame

Answer
Hello Avelyn!
Thanks for your question! There are quite a few things to avoid, the biggest one being trying to have the horse shod/trimmed to make the pigeon toed foot LOOK straight, among other things...
To help give you the best response possible, can you send me a picture of her (without blanket on) from the front (standing square is very important for this picture!) where I can see the whole horse, hooves and all, and also from the sides and back (does not have to stand square for these, but please put on level hard ground such as concrete or asphalt so that I can see her body)?
Also, can you please let me know what your plans are for your mare? Will you do competitive riding and if yes, what kind, etc.
You can send pics to my personal E-mail at jnksize@comcast.net.

Looking forward to getting the pictures.

Christine
