Question
I have a 13 year old gelding named Jibbers who is an ex- sulky racing horse. He has on the right side of his neck a freeze brand which says "S3714". On the back of on of his hind legs, he always has a section of 15 or so white spots which I believe to also be a freeze brand. I have been unsuccessful in finding in racing information. All that I have been able to find out is his racing name was Viking Crusader and his birth date was April 10th. I would like to find out his wins/loses and also what the spots mean on his leg. I hope you can help me or at least give me a website(s) which I can successfully find this information out at!

Answer
Hi Erin.
I can't give you much more info than you already have, since your boy hasn't raced in the last 90 days. I can tell you though that his racing name was indeed Viking Crusader and he is 13 years old, born 4/10/97. His sire is Under Siege and his dam is Fondle, by Nero. (He is all pacing bred.)
If you contact David Csrr at the United States Trotting Association (USTA), he might be able to help you if you explain your situation. His e-mail address is dcarr@ustrotting.com.
Thanks for adopting a Standardbred---they are truly a great breed! If you need breed information, let me know.
  Best wishes!
