mate with a Mississippi Map Turtles ?

and how big does the Mississippi Map Turtles grow ?
and the care of the black knobbed map turtle is exactly
like taking care of a Mississippi Map Turtle .

does black knobbs and Mississippi Map Turtles hibernate ?

and can i put black knobbed sawback turtle and Mississippi Map Turtles together in one tank and how big does the tank have to be , and how many gallons

sorry for so many questions
but thank you very much (:
and how many gallons ?

ANSWER: Mating: They can mate, but it is unlikely they would have fertile eggs since they are two different species.

Size: Mississippi Maps can get to about 5" males, and 10" females. They usually don't hit quite that big, though. Black-knobs are maybe a bit smaller.

Cares are very similar.

Yes, both hibernate (brumate) in the right conditions.

Both can share a tank. the rule of thumb is 10 gallons of water per inch of turtle shell length, so a couple of adult males should be in about a 120 gallon tank mostly filled. Quite a bit bigger for females.

QUESTION: how do you stop them from hibernated ?
and how can you tell if there hibernating .
and can you stop it

thank you .

Answer
You can tell if they are hibernating because they will bury themselves in mud at the bottom of a body of water deep enough to not freeze to the bottom.

If they are not moving, are lethargic, not eating, etc. and the water is chilly, they are cold but not hibernating and are in trouble.

We prevent hibernation by keeping the water temps and lighting summery.

Good luck!
