turtle proof?

How do I keep turtle from getting out of my 50 gallon pond? If I lay netting or wire on the top, can the turtles get out?

Answer
Netting across the top can interfere with basking, so you usually want to rig it so the netting is about a foot higher than the top of the basking site. You can also try a wall or fence around the pond- but don't forget that turtles climb well.

Also- make sure they are getting out. Smaller ponds are easy for a lot of predators to get the turtles out of.
