king snake sits in his water bowl a lot

My kingsnake I notice likes to sit in his water bowl a lot. I see nothing indicating he has mites on him/her and nothing in the water bowl. Is it normal for the snake to do this? he seems to maybe just like the water. Thanks a lot, Paul.

If he does have mites you would see little black specks in the bottom of the water bowl (they drown). If you don't then either he's about to go through a shed cycle, or else he just really likes the water. I have several kings and milks that spend the majority of their time in the water.
