I found a baby lizard

Question
I am not completely sure if it is a lizard or a gecko but due to the size of the tail I am calling it a lizard.  I just found it in my house and I am concerned because I don't know how to take care of babies!  I looked on other sites and they said small crickets but they seem like they would be to big... Thanks for your time!

Answer
A lizard will have regular feet and claws, a gecko would usually have padded toes.  Since I don't know where you are, it would be hard to know what species without a more detailed description.
There are three classes of lizards in regards to diet.  You have herbivores, like iguanas, carnivores, like monitors, and omnivores, like bearded dragons.  A finelt minced salad would interest a baby herbivore or omnivore, and omnivores and carnivores will eat crickets.  The baby will be able to eat crickets up to the length of the distance between his eyes.
Unless he is an escaped pet, I would contact the nearest herpetological society near you.  Many states and countries have laws regarding native species, and you may have to release him in an area best suited to his needs.
If you live in an area that has house geckos and he is one, then you should let him just roam your house, he will find his own food catching any insects that get into your house.
