Found Tame Rabbit - urgent Care Questions

Question
I just found a lop eared rabbit in my backyard.  It's fur is all matted and I'm not sure how long it has been outside.
As soon as I saw it I went outside and it came right up to me and hopped in my arms.  (Boy this thing is cute)
Any tips on care until we can find it's owner, or can you point me in the right direction to any good rabbit care websites?
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks so much.

Answer
Hi Carol,
Ahh how sweet!
Well make sure you keep him/her warm. Thats the most important thing. Rap a warm hot water bottle in a towel and sit him/her in that, either on your lap, in a box or on the kitchen floor (or any floor without carpet). Then place a water bowl next to him, try to give this to him every hour or couple of hours but don't leave it! As he will knock it over and could make himself cold by pouring it over himself!
Try him with a few dandelion leaves or a carrot and go to your local petshop and buy some rabbit food for it to eat.
Then try (but don't worry if he doesn't like it) and brush him out very gently. But as I say this is not extremely important.
Look it over carefully to see if you can see any bumps or cuts, and make sure he it is urinating and pooing properly. (they do small round balls and sometimes slimy poo which they will eat) If you think he is unwell then take him to your local vet.
I would suggest that you let him run around a (secure) floor and place a cardboard box or any box on its side so he has some protection over night.
If you have any problems or decide to keep it then feel free to ask me any more questions.
I hope this helps.
Katie
P.S. Could you possibly tell me which country you are in?
