QuestionHi! I have two three month old Holland Lops, my first rabbits. I got
them for my FFA project. I free-feed them pellets, one slice of apple
(stem/seeds removed) a day, timothy hay, carrot-shaped mineral chews,
salt/mineral licks, a wooden carrot-flavored chew toy, and they have a
corn-cob litter for their box and a wire cage with a little wooden house
with a grass-mat bottom to get off the wire. I take them out on the lawn
for about 15 minutes a day to run around and nibble (theres no
pesticides) and exercize. They seem healthy, hard round poop, all good.
I have horses, so I could easily get them alfalfa hay for free, but I heard
timothy was better, so ive been buying it. Am I doing anything wrong,
or is there anything I could change to keep them happy and healthy, like
more greens or veggies?
Thank you so much,
Kaela
AnswerDear Kaela,
Sounds as if they're getting a pretty good diet, though as I said I'd ditch the corn cob. It's potentially dangerous, and not very good at absorbing moisture or odor.
You can read more about diet here:

and get tons of great rabbit information here:

Hope that helps!
