The right way to carry rabbits

Question
Hi!
I just want to know the right way to lift rabbits. I have 2 rabbits about 3 years old. I hold them by putting one hand below their stomach and one hand supporting their hind legs. But they don't seem to like it and would tremble and sometimes struggle to jump down. I can't lift them and put them on my lap as they would seem scared. They have been like this since they're young. How do I solve this problem?
Just want to let you know, I have 2 puppies and they seem to live just fine with the rabbits although they sometimes chase the rabbits. But the rabbits didn't seem terrified and would continue doing their things.

Answer
Rabbits don't like to be picked up, because instinctually in the wild rabbits who are picked up immediately become dinner food.

But, you can look at this article and see if it can help you with the method of picking them up: http://www.rabbit.org/journal/3-11/lift.html

And you don't want to leave the puppies unsupervised with the rabbits.  They could accidentally play too roughly and kill them.  You especially want to make sure they don't chase the rabbits, that scares the rabbits since again in the wild, rabbits who are being chased shortly become dinner food.
