nail trimming, toys, slippery floor

Question
We have a Mini Rex who has a cage in large enclosure (7'x5').  The floor is vinyl so she seems to slip when sitting still. She hops around no problem.  Any ideas?
We trimmed her nails when we got her but now (after about 1 month)she resists getting her nails trimmed.  We don't want her to injure herself so we only trim one nail if that's all we can do.  Are there easy ways to trim her nails?
What kind of toys would be good for her?  She has toilet paper tubes but we'd like to give her more to play with.  Can we give her dog toys and dog bones to chew?
Any help is much appreciated.

Answer
Have you tried putting towels or rugs in the area she sleeps in to keep her from sliding?  Or a piece of plywood, just something for her to grip.

As for the nails, there's a couple of choices.  One is to have your vet do it.  Another is to get the video at http://www.rabbitcare.org/ and follow their instructions.  The last way is to make her into a bunny burrito (that is, swaddle her in a towel so that only one foot is out at a time) and trim nails.  There is no easy way to do it, but there are alternatives.

There are all sorts of things that make good toys, listed at http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/toys.html  Dog toys generally aren't good for rabbits, but cardboard, paper bags, plain willow baskets, things like that are good for her to play with.
