AnswerIt is possible for guinea pigs and rabbits to be together, but, the rabbit has to be neutered, otherwise he could hurt the guinea pig when trying to mount him (and an unneutered male rabbit can't help it, they will mount everything).
You can find rabbit info at http://www.rabbit.org/care/new-bunny-index.html
Some people suggest you don't keep the rabbit and guinea pig together, since rabbits can pass the disease bordatella to guinea pigs, but I have seen them successfully housed together.
A good source for guinea pig information is http://www.aracnet.com/~seagull/Guineas/careguide.html Guinea pig care is a lot like rabbit care except that guinea pigs have to be given vitamin C daily, they are unable to make their own. Usually this is given in vegetables and fruit.
As to whether you get a boy or girl, basically whoever gets along. That is a personality trait, not a gender trait.
