Question
how can i care for my rabbits bleeding paws?

Answer
Dear Maria,

You don't say where the paws are bleeding, or why.  Did you trim his nails and accidentally cut one?  If so, hold a clean cotton ball compress firmly against the cut quick until it stops.  Sometimes this can take a while!  A cold compress and even a bit of flour applied to the end of the cut nail can help the blood clot.

If this is due to sore hocks, however, in which the bottoms of the feet are sore, open, and bleeding, please read this:

www.bio.miami.edu/hare/sorehocks.html

and please go here:

to find a good rabbit vet who can help you resolve this painful, terrible condition.

I hope this helps. Please write back if you have any other questions.
