i live in santiago chile and my rabbit is 3 we have just come back from the weekend in the country. he has no contact with other rabbit but there were cats and it was wet weather too. kids around and everyone has a cold too.
i have one "pink eye" all starting this morning. i have had this before being a hairdresser but it is worsening faster than ever before. itchy and swollen too. rabbit doesnt seem to have itching.advice from other pet owners say use tea water? we dont have a vet here. could i have some advice

Answer
Dear Karimonita,

It's not likely that the irritated eye both you and your rabbit are from the same thing unless it's from contact with a poisonous plant or other contact irritation.  Pink eye in humans is caused by a bacterium that does not cause this condition in rabbits, and requires antibiotic ophthalmic drops from your physician.

Your rabbit may have runny eyes for several different reasons, and you can read about them here:

Unfortunately, without a vet, the only thing you can do is apply warm, moist compresses in the hope that this will reduce swelling and irritation.
