QuestionHello Mrs.Dana
I have a dwarf rabbit that weighs 4 kg with a few years that has a
few problems of health for time.
I write to them for if they can help me, we have gone to several
specialists veterinarian but they have not solved these problems to
Mistris.
It has mites in the ears for 3 years an ear has her quite damaged;
for the top of above it has her cut with they absence in hair in
both ears that become big..
The belly has her puffed up for a few years and a side of the belly
more.
When it urinates and defecates (sorry for this words) Mistris
complains.
He would be grateful much of heart if someone; expert or not, he
knows
some remedy to be able to solve these problems of health for Mistris.
Herbal ,Homeopathy Or Medicines.
You have some remedy for the puffed up belly of the rabbit that also
has a side of the belly more puffed up than him other.
For the mites of the ears and for his inconveniences on having
urinated and having defecated.
Thank you very much of heart!!
A Big Hug!!!
Good Luck!!!!!!!!
AnswerDear Montse,
The ear mites are a simple problem to cure. You need to get some Revolution (selamectin) from the vet, and apply it topically, as directed. Please see:
www.bio.miami.edu/hare/furloss.html
for complete information and instructions.
The "puffed belly" is more problematic, as this can have many causes. If it's nothing more than gas, then a few cc's of pediatric simethicone will help, along with gentle tummy massage. If, however, the bunny has a chronically bloated abdomen, there could be any number of things wrong, from a tumor or other problem inside to a condition known as "Cowpoop Syndrome" in which the bunny produces large, abnormally shaped poops and has an unusually large belly because of the hypertrophied, scarred intestine. This is n ot treatable. But I cannot tell what the cause of the bloating is without seeing the bunny.
If she has chronic urinary tract problems, please read this:
www.bio.miami.edu/hare/urinary.html
and for messy bottom and other intestinal problems:
www.bio.miami.edu/hare/poop.html
and

You can find a good rabbit vet here, if you are in the U.S.

I hope this helps.
