bunny period

Question
I've had my pet mini rex, Bunny, for over a year and a half. I though Bunny was a boy when I first got it. He would hop around my feet and try to hump them. Hes done that since he was about six or eight months old. Then when I was gone on Vacation this summer my mother said that he must be a 'she' because she had her first period. She was bleeding inside of her cage. I didn't think this to be weird, since she was only a little over a year old.  Now its November and s/he hadn't had another since then. But yesterday s/he tried to hump my feet again and now it looks like s/he is starting another period. But i read online that rabbits don't have periods and now I'm really starting worry cause I dont have the means to take him/her to the Vet right now.

Answer
Dear Dora,

If you're not yet 18, then your parents should be the primary caretakers of the rabbit, and that means they have a responsibility to provide necessary veterinary care.  If your rabbit is actually producing blood from the vulva, this is very serious, and she needs to be spayed ASAP.  Uterine cancer is very common in unspayed female rabbits, and the only treatment is to have her spayed.  Done soon, this will usually effect a complete cure.

If she's trying to hump things, it's really time for this important operation.  You can find a good vet here:

I hope this helps.
