Rabbit mis-behaviour

Question
My female rabbit of 2 years old is thumping very loudly in her cage in the early hours of the morning.  It is disturbing the neighbours and I can't think what to do to stop her.  As soon as I go out she stops.  She seems very moody lately as she runs away from me when she is in the garden but yet seems to feel secure when I go out to her.  She hasn't been spayed and I was wondering whether this might stop her moodiness and thumping?  Please help!!!

Answer
Usually a rabbit thumps because something is scaring them or they are trying to attract your attention.  If she is outdoors, is there maybe a new dog in the area, or a raccoon or another predator that is bothering her?  If you bring her in at night, does she still thump?  If not, then there may be something scaring her.

Certainly spaying wouldn't hurt, it would cure the moodiness, but probably not the thumping.  You need to find out what has changed and why she is alerting you to it.

Bringing her indoors at night may be the simplest solution.
