Bunny breathing hard and sounds like he is weezing

I have a pet Bunny we have had him for almost 2 years. As of today he started breating really hard and he is weezing like he can not catch his breath. Could something be lodged in his throat or could he be constapated. We did not notice till this evening he was acting weird. The kids were playing with him yesterday and he seemed to be fine. I will have to wait to get him to a vet tomorow.

Hi Tammy,

it is good you have already planned to go to a vet tomorrow.  I would suggest to you considering going to an emergency vet as soon as physically possible, if you have one in the area.  This kind of problem should not wait overnight, as many rabbits with shortness of breath expire before getting proper attention, or by the time they get it, are in too weak condition to hold out any longer and make it through treatment they otherwise would be able to endure.

This kind of breathing problem is one where the bunny is already under stress and weakening, I would regard this as an emergency situation and I would even get to an emergency vet immediately.  If that is not possible be at your regular vet as soon as they open their doors tomorrow morning.  Call just before you leave and tell them you have an emergency case with your rabbit so they can at least expect you and possibly shift less severe cases around you.

Please get him to a vet as soon as physically possible.
