IS MY NEW BUNNY HAPPY?

22 11:12:42

Question
We have a neutered very friendly dwarf lop around 8 months old.  We have recently got him a friend from a rescue centre (she has been splayed, around the same age).  Her background was that she had been born into a garden overrun with rabbits and when tenants were evicted, they left all the buns and the RSPCA rescued them all. She was pregnant, but all her babies died. I assume she has had little human contact, other than at the rescue centre.  We have had her now for around a month.  She won't let me stroke or pick her up, but she will feed from my hand.  Any tips to gain her trust?  My other concern is that she constantly grooms the male, which he obviously loves, but I have never seen him groom her and to be honest most of the time he seems to ignore her.  I am concerned that she is not happy and am desperate to give her more love, if only she's let me!

Answer
Dear Heather,

Thank you for giving this poor little soul a good home and a good mate.  Believe me, the male isn't ignoring her.  He's just being the King and she's loving it.  :)

To win her trust, try some of the tips here:

Also be sure she's spayed, so she won't have the trauma of more litters:

Hope it helps!
