Question
Hi. I was wondering how long a rabbit sprays before it becomes a HABIT and can't be fixed after neutering. Because my rabbit has not been using his potty box and has been spraying for about 2-3 monthes. Can this be fixed after his neuter? He will be neutered on Thursday. Is it too late ?

Answer
Hello Vanessa,
I have noticed that your question was in the in queue section rather than asked to a specific breeder.  In the future if you would like faster answers the best thing to do is go to the all experts main page -- Go to Animals/Pets -- Go to Veterinary medicine-- and go to rabbits.  Then ask an actual expert.  Scroll through their profiles and see who you think might best be able to answer your question.  The experts who are asked questions only have 3 days to answer, where as questions that are asked to anyone or what we call pooled questions may never be answered.  Some of the experts are so overwhelmed with their own questions that they forget don't bother to check the unanswered question pool.

Ok, now.. Male rabbits will most likely always spray a little bit.  However, it will be greatly reduced.  He will be much easier to litter train however once he is neutered.  I am sure the whole procedure is done by now since this question was asked to long ago but let me know if it has made a difference.  If you have any other questions please feel free to ask me directly in the manner I instructed above.

Thank you so much and Goodluck to you

Sincerely,

Pam Enve
