Question
Dear Samantha

I have been breeding with my meat/pet rabbits for little more than a year.  I only started with 1 buck and 2 does and have had some litters from there that went very well.  My one doe had her 4th litter 5 weeks ago.  There was only 6 and 2 died.  Her first litter was 4, second was 8 and third was 9.  The one bunny of this 4th litter has a deformed front leg and the other one is so small, much smaller than the rest, he looks 2 weeks old where the others are 5 weeks.  He is very fragile and I am not sure if he will make it.  The other two looks fine and do not have any deformities.  Why is this?  Can you explain this to me?
Thank you
Marinda

Answer
Are the two rabbits you are breeding Dwarf breeds of any type? If so the baby may be a Peanut or what in netherland dwarfs is called Max Factor. This is my only guess other than maybe some kind of injury happened to him when he was forming inside his mom. If he is this small, likely he won't make it, and if he does he will be deformed for life.
