Question
can u tell me if its safe to give my 2month old jersey wooly a sponge bath? she seems to be a little itchy and i thought a bath might help after getting her from the pet store i clean her beding every other day to keep it clean other than that i figured she needs something to relieve the itch, i checked her out didn't see anything on the skin.

Answer
Dear Nika,

Rabbits should never be bathed, and a sponge bath is not likely to relieve the cause of his itching. If he has mites or fleas, then the best solution is Revolution (selamectin) from a good rabbit vet:

You can find an experienced vet here:

www.rabbit.org/vets

Read here about rabbit bathing:

But I would NOT give your bunny any kind of bath for this condition.  Get him to the vet for full diagnosis and treatment of his itching.  Doing otherwise will just prolong his discomfort.

Hope that helps.
