Question
my rabbit often roams around our back yard during the day, and this time one of my boxers was chasing her around. i am almost positive that he did get ahold of her, but from what i can see or feel my rabbit doesnt seem to have any open wounds or broken bones, however she just lazily lays in her cage and is now easily knocked over. i am wondering if she is getting over some shock, or something else.
what is it? what should i do...she isnt eating much or drinking at all.

Answer
Dear Moriah,

Your bunny may have suffered severe internal injury, and is obviously in shock.  You must get her to a good rabbit vet immediately for examination and supportive care (subQ fluids, stabilization of her body temperature, etc.), or she is very likely to die.

What a terrible accident.  I am sorry you had to learn the hard way that a dog can *never* be trusted around a free-roaming rabbit, no matter how gentle he may be indoors.  When the two are outside, the dog doesn't recognize the rabbit as the same "pack member" as inside, and a terrible tragedy can result, as you have learned.  I am sorry, and I hope the bunny will be okay. But she must be gotten to a good vet *immediately*!

I hope this helps.
