Question
i just got a dwarf bunny, and while passing him to my little brother, who is
mentally disabled and cannot talk, pulled his hands away at the last minute
and i accidentally dropped it, it was not that far of a drop but im still
concerned

i was scared for a bit that he, and im not 100% positive its a he, but i was
scared he had internal injuries, but hes fine hopping around and such, but hasn't eaten since i got him, and very recently he seems upset at me or
scared of me maybe. he keeps trying to escape from his home and play pin
and often stays in one corner of his house before the accident he was very
sweet and even after the accident but when i got home this afternoon his
mood has changed.

do you think that he is unhappy with me for dropping it, is he unhappy living
with me, or is  it both?

Answer
Hi,

well he probably does not have a lot of trust in you yet, and this incident didn't make it better.  Rabbits take a long time to build up trust in people.  They are prey animals and this is a way they use to survive.

I would take him in to your regular good rabbit vet for a checkup.  He may have been injured, and a lot of times with rabbits, what you may mistake for being mad/angry, is just an injured rabbit that is scared of your hands or being picked up.

Rabbits are extremely fragile.  Please do not hand him to children or your brother.  You have to be responsible for their safety, they depend 100% on you keeping them safe and healthy.

Please get him to a good rabbit vet right away - not all vets are good rabbit vets.  If you don't have one yet, go here:

www.rabbit.org/vets/vets.html

and find a House Rabbit Society recommended vet near you.

If it is true that he isn't eating now, you have to get him in immediately.  Like tomorrow.  Rabbits cannot last very long without eating and drinking, their digestive system is way different than ours or cats and dogs.

Also, spend some time on the House Rabbit Society web site (www.rabbit.org) reading up on rabbits, their needs, and their behavior.
