Question
I have a female, velvet rabbit who is 1 year old.(Molly) She was my daughters pet but due to my allergies we had to find her a new home. A friend of mine worked at a car dealership and decided to make her the company pet. She had the run of the inside. She would be out of her cage for 8-10 hours a day. She would get tons of attention from customers & employees. She was so happy. At my home she rarely got out of her cage and did not get as much attention. She has the best disposition, she is very friendly, the best!! She was at the dealership for about a month with no problems then all of a sudden she changed from previously being liter box trained to now going everywhere both pee & poop. Now they can not let her out. Nothing changed that we are aware of. We don't understand why she would have changed. Please help!! Why has this happened? Can she be retrained? How?
Thanks,
Heather

Answer
Heather, most likely the change was due to hormonal changes in Molly - she is ripe and ready to mate - peeing pooping all over the place is like when a dog marks territory - she is leaving a trail for a male rabbit.........

A solution would be to get her a very large fancy cage with various levels and get her a pretty mate - that also would be a big attraction at the car dealership.  A place to keep the kids interested while the parents buy cars.
