holland lops w/freckles on testicles

Question
I have a 3 year old holland lops male. He has not been neutered b/c he isn't aggressive or around other buns. I was holding him the other day and noticed little black spots on his testicles. At first glance they looked like freckles, but after a closer look, they resembled a clogged pore. The dots are no larger than the periods at the end of each of these sentences. I'm not sure what it is, but I highly doubt he has clogged pores. There is no swelling or bumps nor has his hop has not changed. It didn't hurt for me to check him, however, he wasn't very keen on the whole ordeal He isn't an indoor rabbit, however, he is in a hutch. We don't let him walk around in the grass, but some time in October he escaped his hutch and was MIA for around 24 hours. I've been trying to do research, and I'm finding nothing. Another detail that might be relevant in solving this puzzle is that we live in south Louisiana, as in an hour south of New Orleans south. Thanks so much for your time.

Answer
Dear Erin,

Without seeing the spots, it's hard for me to know what they are.  But if he's an outdoor bunny and you've just noticed these, then I would think it's a good idea to have them seen by an experienced rabbit vet.  They might just be little blackheads (clogged sebaceous glands), or just freckles, or--not likely, but good to check--skin cancers that should be addressed.

You can find a good rabbit vet here:

Hope this helps.
