Question
I was told that I had a male bunny. I took it over to a friends home to mate with her female. They were together for about two weeks and I have mine home now.  I have noticed that my bunny is acting really strange.  It is growling if I touch it and it will not allow me to pick it up. The titties on the belly are starting to enlarge.  I think I may have the female.  I need to know how long before and babies arrive.  I also need to know if the actions that are being shown could not be pregancy but maybe lonely.  Put give me some advice.  Thank you

Answer
It may be that you both had females and yours is experiencing a false pregnancy. This can cause the same signs as pregnancy, and it is where the rabbit's hormones act up and make it think it is pregnant.

However, unless you can get the rabbits sexed by a vet or knowledgeable breeder, assume either may be pregnant (as you don't know if you have a male, and if you do, you are not sure which one is the male).

Babies can be born 28 days after the first time the rabbits were together and 35 days after the last time they were together. During that entire time, the rabbit will need a nest box. You still have almost two weeks to get one (it should go in on day 26 after the first day they were together), so if you have to order one online, you can. You can also look at your local petstores and feedstores, as they sometimes carry them. You need one that is about 4 inches wider and longer than the rabbit in the normal sitting position.

http://bassequipment.com/Default.aspx?TabId=28 has metal nesting boxes that can be used.

Fill the boxes with hay, but be sure to provide enough hay each day for the rabbit to eat, as well, so it does not eat all the nesting material.

A lonley rabbit will usually become less active, not aggressive. That change in behaviour usually is hormonal. It could be real pregnancy, false pregnancy, or male hormones acting up because he mated with a female.
