QuestionQUESTION: Hi Dana!
I don't know if you remember me, I've asked you questions before!
My rabbit is almost a year old now, is a Jersey Wooly, and is getting fairly big (Mostly his fur adds the POOF-iness!).
His cage is medium sized, not very big, and has a first floor with his litterbox, and a second floor in which he only has enough room for his food and himself.
I would say the height is roughly 3 feet and the length is roughly 2 and a half.
I will probably be getting another cage.
Which size of cage should I get for a 8 month old Jersey Wooly? (Yes, he's 8, but is very big!)
ANSWER: Dear Jessie,
As long as your bunny gets out daily for running and playing for several hours, the cage doesn't have to be enormous. But I always like to be sure that it's big enough for him to lope a few steps, at least, and to be able to stand up on his hind legs without bumping his head. I would say 3' x 3' area, minimum, and at least that high. Enough room for litterbox and playthings, perhaps including platforms and a box he can hide in for daytime snoozing.
Hope that helps.

QUESTION: Thank you!
As a good owner, I am trying to include things that my rabbit likes in his cage.
He isn't very fond of toys, I gave him one when I first got him and he hasn't really played with it.
What things do you think would interest a very stubborn rabbit?
(I tried a salt lick, he hated it!).
AnswerDear Jessie,
Almost all rabbits love a clean cardboard box, tape and staples removed, and glued into its box shape. Cut a couple of holes in two sides to serve as doors, and maybe put a bunch of nice hay inside, and the bunny will become an instant architect! :)
