QuestionI will soon be getting two rabbits. My question is if they are from the same litter and they are both females, can I have them spayed at the same time and them immediately have them put in the same hutch(It's two stories, and outside [can't be put inside])?
AnswerYou can have them spayed at the same time but they will need at least 3 weeks of separation time to heal. It is major surgery for a doe and without separation they could pull each others stitches while trying to groom. Not to mention that they will both be in very severe pain and completely miserable. A small squabble could cause serious injury.
After 3 weeks you can put them back together. Make sure that they still get along. If not you may have to spend a little bit of time re-bonding them. If that is the case let me know and I can give you some tips on bonding.
Good luck
