Bunny Bleeding

Question
I just noticed yesterday that my bunny was bleeding from her private area, but I can't tell from which part. What could cause a bunny to pee blood? I believe that to be where it's coming from. She doesn't seem to be in any pain. She also likes to chew her litter box, she is on her second one; could the ingestion of the plastic cause some harm as well?

Answer
Hi,

it is possible that plastic being expelled might be jagged but I'd probably suspect another medical problem.  I'd definitely get her in tomorrow to your regular good rabbit vet as a serious case. Rabbits don't have a great deal of extra body fluids to lose.

You can also give her other safer alternatives to chew on too such as wicker tents and tubes and balls made specifically for rabbits by Busy Bunny.

If you need to find a good rabbit vet (not all vets are) go here:

to find a House Rabbit Society recommended vet near you.
