cut on my rabbits foot

my rabbit just cut her foot on a piece of glass on my kitchen floor. it has stopped bleeding. will this heal on its own

Dear Doreen,

I would worry about infection.  Be sure to clean the wound thoroughly with dilute povidone iodine (e.g., Betadine) solution and then get bun to the vet for examination.  If the vet thinks the cut is deep or serious enough, s/he may want to put bunny on antibiotics to prevent infection.  You can find a good rabbit vet here:
