Rabbit with watery eye

Question
Hello,
I have asked this question before about a rabbit with a watery eye, but now I have a new question about it. My rabbit has developed a watery eye over the past 2-3 weeks. A while ago one of my rabbits was diagnosed with fur mites. Now (about the time the watery eye started) I see a majority of my rabbits itching and pulling fur out. I am going to start treating them all tomorrow for fur mites. Is this watery eye related to the mites? Can fur mites cause a rabbit to have watery eye? There isn't a lot of mucus (maybe just a little here and there). It is just mostly really watery. He does have some patches of fur on his paws missing, so I think he does have mites. He eats and drinks fine, but his eye is just really watery. I've already tried terramycin. I am going to treat the mites with ivermectin. I would take him to the vet to determine the cause, but none of the vets are educated in rabbits.
Thanks!

Answer
hi brandy watery eyes are usually caused by the rabbit being in a cold or draughty place and we call i conjunctivitis (cold in the eyes).
go to the chemist and buy some conjunctivitis cream which eople use and apply it around the eyes .
it should soon clear up .i have used it before and it cleared up in about 3 days.

carry on treating the mite
Dave.
