QuestionFirst, let me say that we adore our pig and love her more and more everyday!! My question is when we pick her up to put her in the bed, why does she "scream and hang her tongue out of one side of her mouth, and second, why does she "bark" when we scold her?
I think all the noises she makes is precious, but I would like to know if I am doing something wrong.
Thank you for your time,
Linda.
AnswerPigs are animals that are preyed upon in the wild. Their mothers never pick them up. like dogs and cats' mothers do.
In fact, the only time they are picked up is when a predator is ready to eat them.
So naturally, pigs dislike being constrained and will scream unless they are rewarded and gradually desensitized.
A "bark" is usually a warning that there is impending danger and means "get back"..
Or, a bark from a pig may be when they are playing or excited!
Fascinating, wonderful animals, eh?
