Introducing a new piggy

Question
Dear Patricia,
I have a female (not spayed) PBP, "Porkahontas", approximately 6 months old.  She came to me wild as a March hare but is now a very sweet, lovable "little" girl!

I will be adding a male piglet, 8 weeks old, in 3 days.  I have prepared a separate place for "Arnold" to live when I bring him home.  He has been handled from birth and is very tame.

In my reading and preparation, I find that PBPs will need to "work out" a pecking order.  Since my female is so much bigger than the little male, I am wondering how long I must keep them separated and how long before I can let them interact (under close supervision, of course) without a gate between them?

Thank you for your help!  Oh and, why was I not warned that PBPs are addictive??  LOL
Charlene

Answer
Hello,
It could work out well that your female is the oldest.  She may take the younger male under her arm and they may form a mother son relationship.
Each situation is different and there may be aggression at first but it shouldn't be to much.
As young as the male is he should be submissive to the female.
Good luck,
Patty
